Error "ReactSharedInternals is undefined" in Addon Panel view

Summary

Hey everyone 👋

We're currently working on a Storybook Addon. As part of that addon, we want to render a "third-party" React component in our addons panel. Namely react-diff-view: https://github.com/otakustay/react-diff-view/

Unfortunately, when trying to render their main Diff component, we're greeted by the following error:

TypeError: ReactSharedInternals is undefined

My Google-Fu is betraying me, which is why I'd love to know if anyone experienced this before? Or has any ideas on where something like this could originate from?

The addon is written for Storybook 9, and uses React ^19.1.2. Is this something missing in the above library? Some incompatibility between uses of React?

Happy to provide more details, if needed. Wasn't sure what additional details would be helpful here.

This is on me, lol. Manager environment is still React ^18.2.0, using that everything works as expected!
